Poli's Palace & Majestic Theatres Memories Project documents the two shuttered theatres on Bridgeport, Connecticut's Main Street. The project includes conversations with people (local performers, usherettes, candy girls, and the last manager) who had a connection with the theatres.
Jay and Geralene published a book based on the project in 2017.
The hardcover book is 11" x 8-1/2" with a dust jacket. It has 100 pages with 41 recent color photos of the theatres . . . historical articles, ads, and headlines . . . 30 historical photos contributed
by Poli family members, historical societies, and libraries . . . and quotes from interviews with 29 people who have a past connection to the theatres.
A portrait series of people with different occupations on Bridgeport, Connecticut's Main Street . . . the butcher, the barber, the bootblack,
the bank president, and the newspaper "boy" who would soon celebrate his 80th birthday.
A portrait series celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Thomas Merton Family Center in Bridgeport, CT . . . to be exhibited at CT State Community College Housatonic in the Fall of 2024.
